“I don’t know how to say this correctly, so I’m just going to barrel ahead and hope you and I are on the same page: I have never had a more pleasant drilling than I have had at Dr. Gentry’s office. I have never had a better cleaning, either. And when I rolled through to get my tooth pulled, I left with a huge smile on my face. Not because I am a connoisseur of pain or because I got to keep the tooth as a souvenir (I did, tho!), but because everything and everyone at this office is a goddamn (sorry) delight! I mean it: if you tried hard enough, you could just imagine this office as a spa for your teeth. Dr. Gentry is wonderful, personable, kind, and every other adjective you’d want to describe a dentist. She recognizes that getting your mouth worked on is stressful and does everything to create a calming stress-free atmosphere. She’s got the latest equipment, is a master in the art of the near-painless injection, and will always follow up to make sure that you’re recovering well after a procedure.

Honestly, visiting her office often feels like you’re chilling with a friend (who you kind of aspire to be, maybe?) and every one of her staff members — from reception to billing to hygienists — will remember who you are and treat you like you’re family. Even more so than the Olive Garden. (And I love the Olive Garden so it physically hurts me to drag them like this because their whole thing is “we are your family while you are here. Forget the life you knew before” and they don’t do it as well as this office!)

Anyway: You should make an appointment. By all logic, going to the dentist should be my least favorite thing to do. But I love coming here. And Dr. Gentry is one of my favorite people!”

“I do not fear going to the dentist when it is Dr. Gentry’s office. Not only is Dr. Gentry’s expertise impressive, but she has a gentle and capable hand. She doesn’t push you to get unnecessary and expensive procedures, but makes sure that your dental issues are handled professionally, immediately, and easily. Her dental assistants are capable, her receptionist & office manager helpful, and the entire office very friendly. I recommend Dr. Gentry to my family, friends, and colleagues.”

“Thanks to Angela, I experienced the most comprehensive examination, detail-oriented cleaning, and friendly dental service I’ve ever had. Not only did I get a plethora of high resolution digital x-rays (bye, bye film strips) but also color photographs. These images were immediately on display and then discussed with me to understand my own dental health. For the first time ever, I also had measurements done on my gums. The cleaning included ultrasonic, precise manual plaque removal, flossing and a polish, all done with the utmost care and even some lovely humming to the background music. As relaxing as a visit to the dentist can be. Plus there was no rush to the next patient, as the time felt well dedicated to me as the client. Overall, such a positive first impression, I’ve joined as a member, and look forward to my future visits.”

Any procedures to improve my oral health included photos, charts, and outlines of the process. Office lists services and costs covered by insurance vs. payment due prior to any procedure. Conveniently located downtown. Easy to make appointments and can opt into e-communications for reminders.”

“Great dentist, hygienists, and staff. The office is chic, clean, and very hygienic. The staff is knowledgeable, friending, and welcoming. Dr. Emily spent a lot of time examining and discussing possible procedures. She went into detail on her reasoning and explained everything she planned to do. I especially liked that the front office staff walked me through my insurance coverage and out of pocket costs before scheduling a follow up visit. By the end I felt like a valued patient and not just another paying customer. Great experience!”

Their entire staff is professional and treats their patients with a lot of care. The facility is conveniently located in the middle of the city and is kept clean. Dr. Gentry has light hands and ensures that you feel comfortable at all times; whether you’re getting a filling done or something more major.

“I cannot believe how lucky I was to somehow find Dr Gentry well over 10 years ago when I started a new job and had just moved to the Bay. I have followed her through several locations before she opened her practice, and I will get on a plane to come to my appts if I ever have to move from this area. She is a gifted dentist and an incredibly kind human being. Her office is so impressive, with new technology each time I visit. Her team is so professional, and I feel known by everyone with whom I interact. It turns out I have really crappy teeth. Like, “do you just gargle with sugar water every night?” bad teeth. Dr Gentry has taken care of everything that has happened with kindness and soft humor. I never feel ashamed or stupid because my teeth are literally falling out of my head. She will also text me on a Saturday morning after a procedure to see how I am faring. I have recommended her to so many friends and colleagues. Best. Dentist. Ever.”

“I recently started going to Gentry Dentistry based on both their Yelp reviews and a friend’s referral. I work near the Ferry Building and it’s a few blocks to get to their office, but, after a few visits, I can say it’s definitely worth it no matter where you are in the city.

The office is very modern and nice with art on the wall and good music playing (none of that elevator stuff). All of the equipment looks brand new (my previous dentist had a bunch of archaic looking things) and the chairs are really comfortable. The doctor is super friendly and takes times to explain everything, going into detail with the x-rays and the depth of my gums (I had no idea that was a thing). She’s very gentle and clearly knows what she is doing. The front office is also very friendly and helped me understand my insurance (head’s up, it’s totally different than medical insurance). I’ve been here four times so far for cleanings and fillings. Each experience has been pleasant and painless (even though my cavity did NOT look good on the x-ray, but it’s all fixed now!). I plan to keep going here as long as I can and recommend Gentry Dentistry to all of my friends.”
